COVID, YOU SUCK!
You know that common phrase people use;
Manusia hanya mampu merancang, Allah yang menentukannya.
Yeah, that phrase slapped us hard this time!
My family and I had planned for a holiday in Langkawi on the 24th of February. It was my semester break and the kids were on their school holiday too, so it was the perfect time for a family holiday after who-knows-how-long of the pandemic travelling restrictions. Plus, Papa had some work in Langkawi and we thought it's a good idea to follow suit.
On the night before our flight, Aleef and Adriana were down with a fever. We were confused as to do RTK test or not because if both of them are positive covid, then the flight tickets have to be cancelled and it'll be a loss. Plus, it's been so long since our last family holiday and we're looking forward to this one. But after some rethinking, we didn't wanna be selfish and risk people on-board; hence, we did the RTK test. Alhamdulillah the results were negative. So we thought "Oh! That means we have hope to be on flight to Langkawi tomorrow. Let's pray the fever reduces by tomorrow morning. Ameen."
But nope! That fever was like "Huh, you wish :p" and went up to 38°C. As if fever wasn't enough, covid gave Aleef and Adriana a headache and sore throat too. Another RTK test was done for Aleef and Adriana...and boom! THEY WERE POSITIVE COVID! So, we decided to do RTK test for all. Unfortunately, Umi's and Ameerah's also showed positive covid. Mine was negative, but my throat had a slight sore and that's not a good sign. The day after, I was down with a slight fever so I did RTK test......the result was positive😔. This means the whole family at home was positive covid! (except for Papa cuz he's in Langkawi and Annasreen's in college).
In the end, our holiday plan was ruined. A cancelled two-way flight tickets, cancelled booked-hotel rooms, cancelled cable car tickets, etc. Lost thousands of bucks due to this. We were down for a few days because we couldn't believe of what had happened. For a few days, we did nothing but lied down on bed. I thought I would at least have a fun semester break after a war with online classes, lab reports, assignments and exams. I even did some outfit shopping for Langkawi holiday. But with a thought like "there's a reason why this happened. Allah knows better", we regained our energy and spirit and proceed with daily life as it is. I decided to unpack my supposed-to-be-worn-in-Langkawi clothes and be productive cuz y'all, lying in bed and sleeping for a few days had me weak physically and mentally.
Since Papa cancelled his company return-flight ticket, he had to spend time alone in Langkawi until the day we were supposed to be back home from Langkawi #SianDia. Once home, he had to be quarantined since he had covid symptoms as well. RTK test showed a pale red line indicating it is positive! A few days after that, Annasreen pulak ada symptoms and her swab test was positive. So dia pun kena balik rumah and be quarantined. #CovidFamily. Alhamdulillah, now all of us are back to health. Aleef and Ameerah have started screaming and fighting with each other, so that's a sign that they are VERY okay😒.
Thank you to those who helped with us by sending food, meds and groceries to our house. Thank you to those who check-up on us. Thank you for the doa's and wishes. May Allah bless you all.
Please stay safe and #JagaSOP. More importantly, please get vaccinated (if you haven't). I promise you, there is no microchip or whatsoever in the vaccine😂. Till then, byeeeee.
Love,
Aida.
